Acacia found me when I lived in Independence. She walked out from under my car just after I parked. She meowed at me so I picked her up and noticed that her little pink foot pads were scratched up and she was all dirty. She must have been 3 or 4 months old then and she's been with me ever since.
She hides when she hears strangers, but it doesn't take long for her to get to know you and then she won't leave you alone! Her favorite place is on your shoulders. She would much rather be on your shoulders than getting petted. She especially likes Heath's because they're so big! She loves Heath and always wants attention from him. On the other hand, she doesn't like attention from Jake. She growls and oinks like a pig at him to make sure he knows that. She is very vocal and talks all the time. If she wants on your shoulders, she'll ask ...and ask ...and ask until you finally agree! Then you'll know she's happy because she'll snot on you!

I acquired Jake when I moved in with Heath. He quickly warmed up to me because I like to play with him. He's so affectionate that he lets me dress him up and put stuff on his head just because he likes the attention! He's oddly insecure and always needs to be touching me with his rear. He never leaves our side and won't even eat unless we're in the room because he's afraid he'll miss something!
I like to think that Jake takes after me because even though he's very quirky, he's also very smart! (ha ha) He can learn a new trick in just a few hours. 'I call his newest trick "Arugula!" He loves to play catch with the frisbee, but he's so clumsy that he often wipes out on his jumps! (But he bounces right back up like nothing happened!) He also spends a lot of time "playing" with the cats. " They're fun to chase on the hardwood floors! Acacia even taught him how to bat at your playmate with your paw. They like to "talk" to each other, only Jake doesn't realize that the cats aren't playing!

Nino persuaded me into taking him home from a local animal shelter. His charm was his loud purring motor. As soon as I reached into his cage and touched him, he began to purr. I brought him out and he walked across my shoulders and my friends shoulders purring loudly all the time.
Nino decided that he doesn't like dogs too much... especially ones that like to play a lot. So he often hangs out on top of the cat tree. But when he decides he wants affection, you'd better give it to him! He'll reach out and grab you, run in and out of your legs, trip you down the stairs or whatever it takes to get you to rub his tummy! He likes to tackle an unsuspecting Acacia, who handles him pretty well even though she's only half his size. Besides wrestling, he likes to roll around and pick up dust bunnies off of the floor and stretch out on the cold tile in the bathroom. When I call his name, he responds by opening his mouth as if to say "yeah?" but without making a sound.
