Of course, with the huge changes happening in our lives, comes a little insecurity. Can we find a house soon enough? A car? Will we be able to handle the drastic change in expenses? How will I deal with being a working mother of two newborns? With all of this uncertainty, there is one thing I'm absolutely sure of:
I am incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful partner on this journey.
Heath is amazing. He shows me every day that the babies and I are the most important thing to him. I have never felt so treasured in my life. I've learned to look past the trail of empty soda cans and dishes in the sink. What's really important is that he is so very sincere, strong, smart, and loving. Everyone knows he's always been the type of guy that will do anything for his friends. Any doubt of his enormous heart will vanish when you see him cuddling with the cat - and I get to share in it every day of my life! I couldn't ask for a better person to raise a family with.
One thing that has amazed me the most is that he's been as involved in this pregnancy as I have. He wants to take Lamaze and infant care classes together; he's reading books about fatherhood and has attended every doctor appointment with me - often being the only husband there. He's already teaching me stuff he's learned about taking care of an infant! He's doing everything he can to make this experience easier on me, including belly rubs, back pops, scraping the ice off my car windows, and even being seen buying prune juice from the drugstore! Even though he's bordering on being overprotective (I'm not crippled!), I couldn't do this without him!
For the past couple months, Heath has been going full throttle on the house renovations in addition to his 16 hour days working on Doodlekit, which is meant to ensure a stable future for our family. We're hoping to put the house on the market within the next month or two. I know all of this adds up to a lot of pressure on him. But, he has risen to the occasion unfazed and determined - he impresses me every day.
With all of the uncertainty we have before us, I have confidence that together we can accomplish anything. He is my light, my love, and my partner. I'm a lucky girl and our kids are lucky to have such an amazing daddy!
